Child Life Specialist Outpatient Hematology/Oncology
Overview
The Child Life Specialist fosters psycho-social, emotional, and physical development of children and adolescents through the provision of developmentally appropriate preparation for medical procedures, post-procedural education, and therapeutic play in order to maintain normalized living patterns and minimize stress and anxiety. Confers with multidisciplinary team members to promote continuity of care and develop discharge goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Child Life, Family Studies, Child Development, or related field
- Completion of a Child Life internship
- Certification in Child Life is required within one year of hire date
Total Rewards
Expected pay for this position is $23.58 - $27.75/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

About the Role
Realizes the importance of family centered care, and incorporates this value into daily intervention, working with children from various hospital units (i.e., children of adult patients, siblings of pediatric patients, and outpatient services).
