Child Life Specialist- Inpatient Cancer and Blood Disorder Unit
About the role
Provides developmentally appropriate clinical care and advocacy for patients and families by applying knowledge and skill that promotes healing, prevents significant developmental disruption, and reduces psychological stress.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge and skill to promote healing, prevent developmental disruption, and reduce psychological stress for patients and families.
- Engage in clinical care and advocacy activities tailored to the needs of infants, toddlers, school-age children, and adolescents in a therapeutic setting.
Requirements
- Completed an internship of a minimum of 600 hours of child life clinical experience under the direct supervision of a Certified Child Life Specialist.
- Obtain Certified Child Life Specialist certification within one year of employment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Life, Child Development, or a related field.
Skills
- Knowledge of child development and psychology.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills.

$32.07 - $48.11 per hour
