Child Life Specialist II

This position has been designated as safety sensitive and cannot be filled by a candidate who is a current user of medical marijuana. Flu vaccines are required.

About the role

$5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time positions. Schedule: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, General Pediatrics & Rehabilitation Units.

Salary: Most new hires start between $24.40–$30.50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Gather information and document the psychosocial needs of patients and families through patient/family meetings, nursing reports, and consultation with medical staff.
• Ensure patients and families receive appropriate clinical services, medical plans, preparation for medical events, assistance with hospitalization and diagnosis, emotional support, and discharge planning.
• Provide patients and families with developmental services, including group activities and interventions.
• Maintain a safe activity room with appropriate materials and supplies to facilitate play, with documented attendance and interventions.
• Supervise, orient, and train volunteers and interns to provide quality interactions with patients.
• Maintain a positive, supportive, and cooperative attitude with customers and report suggestions for positive change.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (required).
• 2 years of Child Life experience (required).
• Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) – Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) (required).
