Child Life Specialist for Psychiatry (JR219795)

About the role

The Child Life Specialist for Psychiatry will provide emotional support and facilitate play therapy sessions for children undergoing psychiatric treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional support and facilitate play therapy sessions for children in psychiatry units.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement therapeutic activities.
  • Assess and document child development and progress during therapy sessions.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training related to child development and mental health.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field.
  • Experience working with children in a clinical setting.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Current CPR certification.
  • Knowledge of child development theories and practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour based on experience.

Schedule
