About the role
The Child Life Specialist for Psychiatry will provide emotional support and facilitate play therapy sessions for children undergoing psychiatric treatment.
Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and facilitate play therapy sessions for children in psychiatry units.
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop and implement therapeutic activities.
- Assess and document child development and progress during therapy sessions.
- Engage in ongoing education and training related to child development and mental health.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field.
- Experience working with children in a clinical setting.
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of child development theories and practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

$30.00 - $35.00 per hour based on experience.
