About the role

The Child Life Specialist will provide emotional support and facilitate play-based activities to enhance the overall well-being of children and families during medical procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide child-centered care to patients and families
  • Develop and implement therapeutic play programs
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure patient comfort and safety
  • Conduct training sessions for hospital staff on child development and play therapy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience working with children in healthcare settings
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • Current CPR certification
  • Knowledge of child development stages
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Skills

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
