About the role
The Child Life Specialist will provide emotional support and facilitate play-based activities to enhance the overall well-being of children and families during medical procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide child-centered care to patients and families
- Develop and implement therapeutic play programs
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure patient comfort and safety
- Conduct training sessions for hospital staff on child development and play therapy
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field
- Experience working with children in healthcare settings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Current CPR certification
- Knowledge of child development stages
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
