Child Life Specialist

About the Role

The Child Life Specialist plans and implements a Child Life program focused on the emotional and developmental needs of hospitalized children, adolescents, and their families. They collaborate with medical, nursing, social service, Chaplaincy, and Volunteer Services staff to provide a comprehensive range of therapeutic activities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement therapeutic activities tailored to the emotional and developmental needs of hospitalized children and adolescents.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Recreational Therapy, or Elementary Education.
• Within 1 year of hire: National Certified Child Life Specialist certification from the Association of Child Life Professionals.

Pay

$25.28 - $38.68 per hour. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Location

Sacred Heart Medical Center-Spokane, 101 W 8th Ave, Spokane, WA.

Schedule

Per-Diem, Variable Shift.
