About the role
The Child Life Specialist will provide support to children and families impacted by neuroscience and trauma-related conditions. This includes working with patients, families, and staff to promote emotional, social, and developmental well-being.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement therapeutic programs for children and families.
- Provide emotional support and facilitate coping strategies for children and families dealing with complex medical situations.
- Engage in educational activities to enhance understanding of child development and psychology among healthcare providers.
- Conduct outreach and education sessions to improve patient and family engagement in care plans.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience working with children and families in a trauma/neuroscience setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Current CPR certification.
- Knowledge of child development theories and practices.
- Experience with evidence-based interventions for children and families.
Skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
Salary range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually.
