Child Development Coordinator

About the role

The Child Development Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, primarily serving children at Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Loma Linda.

Responsibilities

• Assess developmental needs
• Create individualized activity plans
• Collaborate with clinical, therapeutic, and educational staff
• Provide guidance to families and caregivers
• Maintain accurate documentation
• Track progress toward developmental goals
• Support program improvement through data collection and feedback
• Organize special events
• Ensure safe and inclusive environments
• Contribute to staff training related to child development practices

Qualifications

• Strong Communication and Writing skills to document care plans, report progress, and collaborate effectively with families and interdisciplinary teams.
• Customer Service experience in supporting children, families, and caregivers in a compassionate, responsive, and culturally sensitive manner.
• Project Management skills to plan, coordinate, and evaluate child development programs, activities, and special events.
• Fundraising experience or familiarity with community outreach and donor engagement to support child development initiatives is beneficial.
• Formal education in child development, psychology, special education, social work, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred).
• Experience working with children with developmental disabilities or medically fragile conditions in healthcare, educational, or community settings.
• Knowledge of developmental milestones, behavior management strategies, and family-centered care principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities, and adhere to regulatory and safety standards.
