CHILD DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT

About the role

The incumbent is the lead consultant for the Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) state plan, and is assigned responsibilities to work on various child care and development programs funded by federal and/or State funds. Consultants work independently and serve in an educational leadership role for promoting child care programs at the local level.

Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee child care and development programs
• Work on various child care and development programs funded by federal and/or State funds
• Consult with local child care programs to promote quality and stability
• Collaborate with program units and managers throughout CDSS
• Provide educational leadership for child care programs

Requirements

• Knowledge of state and federal policies and regulations as they relate to child care and development programs
• Project management skills
• Collaboration skills

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of experience in child care and development programs, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills

Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
