About the Role

The El Dorado County Office of Education accepts applications for Classroom Assistant II with our Child Development Program on a year-round basis, with no application deadline. This posting will be used to create an eligibility list for current and future openings.

Under the direction of the Head Start teacher, demonstrates and applies fundamental knowledge of child development to facilitate daily activities and experiences for children that support school readiness following federal, state, and COE guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily activities and experiences for children to support school readiness.
  • Apply fundamental knowledge of child development in accordance with federal, state, and COE guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Associate Teacher Permit or Associate of Arts degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field.
  • Must meet Title 22 licensing standards.
  • Previous successful experience in Early Care and Education Programs within the last three years preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-English) speaking candidates are encouraged to apply. Bilingual stipend available upon completion/passing of proficiency exam.

Qualifications

  • Copy of transcript (must be submitted with the application for verification of ECE units).
  • Letter of Introduction.
  • One current letter of recommendation (within the last 2 years).
  • Copy of Associate Teacher Permit.
  • Resume.

Pay

Pay Range: $17.97 - $23.39 per hour. Initial salary placement is on the first step of the range.

Schedule

  • 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.
  • 10 months per year.
  • Full-time employment.
