Child Care Teacher Assistant

About the role

The Teacher Assistant will help plan and implement a program of activities that ensures each child’s personal safety while providing enrichment, physical challenges, and learning experiences. You will uphold the employee code of conduct and ensure all job responsibilities reflect the mission of the Old Colony Y and the regulating agency.

This position is full-time, hourly (35-40 hours weekly), with shifts ranging between 6:45 am and 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, at our Easton location.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and lead activities for children throughout the day.
• Help develop and execute a program that fosters innovation, creativity, and learning.
• Ensure a fun, safe, and educational environment where children can laugh, play, make friends, and build relationships with caring adult role models.

Requirements

• Minimum of 16 years of age.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• Evidence of a physical examination within the last 12 months.
• Negative Mantoux TB test and immunity for measles, mumps, and rubella.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift up to 40 lbs (children) on occasion, and move intermittently during work hours.
