Child Care Teacher Assistant

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM or 9:30 AM–6:30 PM

Responsibilities

• Implement daily classroom activities and routines.
• Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members.
• Support the center’s goals, guidelines, and standards of excellence.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED (required).
• EDU 119 or equivalency as defined by DHHS Education Workforce (preferred).
• Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification within 2 months of hire (required).
• ITS SIDS certification within 2 months of hire (required).
• BSAC (Basic School Age Care) certification for those working with school-age children (required).
• DHHS NC Division of Child Development Criminal Background letter (required).
• NC Division of Child Development Qualifying Letter/Criminal Background letter (required).
• NC Division of Child Development Workforce letter within 2 months of hire (required).
• NC Institute for Child Development Professional ECE Certification within 2 months of hire (required).
• CDL license if hired for driving buses and working with school-age children (required).
• Maintain training hours as outlined by the Division of Child Development (required).

Preferred Qualifications

• NC CDL License.
• Ability to work a variety of schedules and effectively in all classrooms within the centers.
• Playground safety experience.
