Child Care Site Manager - Before/After School Enrichment
About the role
We are seeking an experienced professional passionate about nurturing young minds and building strong connections within our community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating engaging learning environments, implementing effective curricula, and providing compassionate support to both children and their families.
Responsibilities
- Finding new and innovative ways to help kids learn while maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
- Planning and executing curriculum that is child-centered and developmentally appropriate.
- Implementing positive reinforcement strategies for managing children’s behavior.
- Conducting and documenting weekly child observations and addressing any developmental or behavioral concerns.
- Maintaining accurate attendance records, emergency contact information, and allergy reports.
- Ensuring centers are well-stocked with quality learning materials and organized according to learning center needs.
- Participating in monthly team planning meetings to discuss and implement new ideas and initiatives.
- Serving as a liaison between staff, parents, and guardians, communicating regularly about children’s experiences and progress.
- Actively participating in the Annual Campaign to support the YMCA’s mission and fundraising efforts.
Requirements
- A degree from an accredited college or university in an education or human services related field.
- At least 2 years of verified child care experience (2500 hours).
- The ability to pass all relevant background checks and stay current with required training.
Qualifications
- Passionate about working with children in a fun, inclusive, and diverse environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in interactions with children and families.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
