CHILD CARE MONITOR I

Essential Performance Responsibilities

• Conduct planned activities for the Before and After School Care on-site program.
• Maintain a safe and enriching environment for participants.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with school-age children in a group supervision setting is required.
• Within the first year, must complete BASCC Comprehensive Child Care Components I and II, or Florida Department of Children and Families (My Florida) modules: Special Needs Appropriate Practices, Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices, and School-Age Appropriate Practices.
• At least 10 hours of approved BASCC Child Care training is required annually.
• Computer skills are required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Prior to Employment

• Must complete BASCC Comprehensive Child Care Components I and II, or Florida Department of Children and Families (My Florida) modules: Special Needs Appropriate Practices, Understanding Developmentally Appropriate Practices, and School-Age Appropriate Practices within the first year of employment.
• At least 10 hours of approved BASCC Child Care training is required annually.

Physical Requirements

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
