Child Care Assistant

About the role

Join the Bennington Public Schools Foundation's All Star Kids Before & After School Program as a Child Care Assistant, where you'll assist with supervising children, setting up activities, and maintaining a safe environment. This flexible position offers hands-on experience in childcare, leadership, and teamwork in a supportive school setting. Perfect part-time position for high school students ages 16+ looking to work with children!

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising children
• Set up and clean up for snacks and program activities
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment in compliance with program guidelines
• Follow emergency procedures and respond promptly to incidents
• Communicate openly and respectfully with staff, parents, and children
• Actively participate in activities, providing positive guidance and care for children

Requirements

• Must be 16 years or older
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work in Bennington, NE
• Must pass background checks, including the Nebraska Child Abuse & Neglect and Adult Abuse registries.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, and occasionally climb, stoop, and kneel.

Schedule

• School Year Hours M-F:
• Morning Shift: 6:15am-8:15am & 2:45pm-6:00pm
• Flexible Hours – Perfect for balancing work and other commitments.
• Summer Hours M-F: Flexible up to 8 hr shift 6:30am-6pm
