Child Care Assistance Program Specialist - Child Care Connection
About the role
The Child Care Assistance Program Specialist position is a critical member of our Child Care Connection team, a program under SAL Community Services. In the role, you get to help families find child care providers and determine if they’re eligible for child care assistance and support the Illinois Department of Human Services.
Responsibilities
- Work with families to determine eligibility of state-funded programs.
- Process Illinois Department of Human Services and Child Care Resource and Referral reports.
- Maintain assigned caseload of subsidized child care services for both parents and child care providers as contracted by IDHS.
- Verify client and child care provider eligibility in assigned caseload.
- Process applications, approvals, cancellations, denials and redeterminations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalency certificate (GED).
- Associate's degree (or 66+ hours of college credit) preferred.
- Experience with or knowledge of Child Care Resource and Referral Service or child care services and experience working with families with low income and/or child care subsidies is desired.

Pay
BASE WAGE $17.84-$19.61 per hour based on education level.
