About the role
MaineHealth Behavioral Health (MHBH) seeks an experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health Integrated team within MaineHealth Primary Care – Pediatrics. This position is primarily located at the Watson Health Center Primary Care Practice on the Miles Campus of Lincoln Hospital in Damariscotta, Maine.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based psychiatric care to pediatric patients in an outpatient setting, focusing on individuals with complex and co-occurring mental health conditions.
- Engage actively in collaborative treatment planning with multidisciplinary colleagues and referring providers across the care continuum.
- Serve as a clinical educator, teaching psychiatry residents and medical students through direct supervision, didactics, and clinical consultation.
- Participate in team and staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and opportunities for academic development and scholarly activity.
Requirements
- Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School.
- Completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training.
- Current or eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine.
- Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or be eligible for examination by the American Board as documented by written evidence.
- Board Certified or board eligible in general psychiatry.
- Current DEA Registration Certificate.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in child outpatient psychiatry and treating patients with complex mental illnesses.
- Enthusiasm for medical education and mentorship, with a commitment to teaching and learning in a diverse academic environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School, completion of internship and psychiatric residency and/or fellowship training, current or eligible licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine, certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or eligible for examination, board certified or board eligible in general psychiatry, current DEA Registration Certificate, and demonstrated experience or strong interest in child outpatient psychiatry and treating patients with complex mental illnesses.
