About the role
Volunteer advocates are skilled individuals who are trained by Henrico CASA to help vulnerable children. These volunteer advocates are appointed by judges to speak up for the best interests of children experiencing possible abuse and/or neglect. CASAs build a relationship with the child and gather observations that are vital to the court process.

Qualifications
Volunteer advocates must be able to commit to regular visits with the child, maintain confidentiality, and have a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of children.
Benefits
Volunteer advocates gain valuable skills and experience through this rewarding opportunity. They also receive training and support from Henrico CASA staff.
Pay
The pay for Court Appointed Special Advocates is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
Volunteer advocates typically visit the child on a weekly basis, usually for 1-2 hours each time.
