About the role
The Guidance Center is a leading organization dedicated to helping children, adults, and families improve their lives through various programs. We offer more than 14,200 services annually across 25 programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct services to children and families at the Kids-TALK Children’s Advocacy Center.
- Ensure all aspects of the Kids-TALK program align with the mission and comply with reporting agencies.
- Maintain timely handling of referrals and accurate submission of required data.
- Work regular hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field.
- One year of experience working with abused/neglected children and their families, with priority given to candidates with additional experience.
- A working knowledge of child maltreatment, trauma, and child development.
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system, CPS/Foster Care Services, and/or the courts.
- The ability to engage children 17 and under and their families from diverse backgrounds.
- Training and experience in working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong commitment to customer service, ability to work cooperatively with diverse professionals, and a network of resources.
- Valid driver’s license and favorable driving record.
- A nonjudgmental approach, cultural competency, and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of children and their families.
- The ability to develop collaborative relationships, assess and intervene within complex family and community systems, and be flexible, patient, and creative.
- The ability to handle crisis situations, be computer proficient, and travel frequently between Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center sites.

Pay
The salary for this position varies based on transferable work experience and qualifications. Salary grade 105 ranges from $23.82 to $50.00 per hour.
Schedule
Regular working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
