Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (Inpatient)

The Opportunity

Join our team at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital’s inpatient psychiatric unit, where you’ll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary group dedicated to patient-centered care. While currently an adult-only unit, we are excited to expand in late 2026 to include four adolescent rooms, the first of their kind in Interior Alaska. We are seeking a board-certified child psychiatrist who is comfortable working with both adults and adolescents to help shape this growing program.

Compensation

• $390k base salary
• $37,500 estimated on-call compensation
• $65k sign-on bonus

Schedule

• 225 8-hour shifts per year
• Estimated 75 call shifts

Patients

• 20-bed unit
• Average of 12 patients per day
• Plans in place to expand to include a 4-bed adolescent unit by Q4 2026

Team

• Three full-time psychiatric nurse practitioners
• One full-time psychiatrist
• A healthy psychiatry per-diem bench
• Case managers
• Social workers
