Adolescent Psychiatrist - Inpatient

About the role

The Inpatient Psychiatrist will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication. Practice within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations, as well as by corporate, facility policy or procedures. Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and to offer medical recommendations. Evaluate patients for mental, emotional or behavioral disorders. Treat or direct treatment of patients, utilizing a variety of psychotherapeutic methods and medications. Review and complete medical information for individual care plans, documents services and information in a timely manner. Maintain confidential documentation, compliance and billing in accordance with the policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
  • One or more years’ post graduate degree practice preferred.
  • Licensed in the state in which the facility(s) operate.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry preferred.
  • Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.

Qualifications

  • Experience in treating patients with mental, emotional or behavioral disorders.
  • Knowledge of medical protocols and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

$320,000 - $350,000 per year, depending on experience.
