Chief Technology Officer IRES - SSFB/HSV
Description of Duties
Seeking a visionary, business-minded Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to serve as a key member of our executive team. In this role, you will be the primary architect of our technical strategy, ensuring that our technological capabilities directly support, accelerate, and scale our overarching objectives. If you are a strategic leader who excels at translating complex technical opportunities into tangible business value, we want to hear from you. - Supervise the development, maintenance, and scaling of system infrastructure while building robust quality assurance and data protection processes.
- Help non-technical departments use technology effectively and profitably.
- Act as the primary technical spokesperson to communicate the company's technology strategy to partners and prospective customers.
- Collaborating with senior DoD leadership, military stakeholders, and inter-agency partners to align IT strategy with national security objectives.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, zero-trust architecture, quantum-resistant cryptography) to maintain technological superiority.
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance with federal regulations (e.g., NIST 800-53, FISMA) and DoD cybersecurity standards.
- Develop and maintain the IT framework, including technology roadmaps, standards, and governance processes to guide IT investments and initiatives.
- Oversee the evaluation, selection, and integration of emerging technologies, ensuring they align with industry trends and best practices.
- Leading IT reviews, audits, and optimization efforts to maintain a resilient and future-proof IT infrastructure.
- Leading ITSM initiatives (ITIL-based) to optimize service delivery, including incident management, change management, and service continuity for high-availability systems.
- Communicate complex IT strategies to non-technical stakeholders, including senior military officials, interagency partners, and external contractors.
Requirements
- Proven track record in a CTO or equivalent senior technology leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience in building technology strategies that align with business plans, managing IT/R&D budgets, and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Ability to conduct technological analyses, evaluate emerging trends, and decide which platforms, languages, or infrastructures yield a long-term competitive advantage.
- The capability to recruit, mentor, and retain top-tier engineering talent while fostering an innovative and collaborative culture.
- Translate highly complex technical concepts into clear, actionable business insights for non-technical stakeholders.
