Chief Technology Officer

About the role

Management Controls Inc. (MCi) is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to join our dynamic team in Houston, TX. The CTO is a member of the Executive Leadership team and is responsible for all technology-related matters, including product management, product design, quality assurance, engineering, and infrastructure. MCi is an AI-forward organization committed to leveraging artificial intelligence to drive efficiency, innovation, and automation across all functions. This position is based at the Houston headquarters on a hybrid schedule, with three days in the office. It is not eligible for sponsorship, relocation, or fully remote work.

Employees are expected to actively adopt and utilize approved AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, and internal AI solutions, to streamline workflows, enhance productivity, and support data-driven decision-making. All team members are responsible for using AI in a secure, compliant, and accountable manner, ensuring outputs are validated and aligned with company standards and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Formulate technology strategy and product vision that supports the overall corporate strategy
• Lead transformation of product ideas from early stages into market-ready solutions while considering financial implications, marketing needs, and business objectives
• Manage the day-to-day execution of all technology activities to meet product and business goals, including oversight of Product Management, Design, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Infrastructure teams
• Oversee activities of direct reports with mentorship, encouragement, and corrective actions
• Champion MCi’s products, leveraging input and capabilities of the Marketing department
• Ensure product design, maintenance, and improvements resonate with customers, boost product appeal, and reach revenue goals
• Conduct research and analysis into future product direction, gap analysis, product differentiation, and execution strategies
• Identify, manage, and leverage new technology innovation
• Implement and oversee security measures to protect the company's data and technology assets
• Develop and manage department budget, including resource allocation for projects and initiatives
• Encourage adoption of new ideas and methods
• Support Sales and Customer Success departments
• Leverage AI-powered tools and data-driven insights to improve and advance the Technology department

Schedule

Hybrid schedule with three days in the office at the Houston headquarters.
