Chief Stationary Engineer
Job Summary
Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Chief Plant Operations Stationary Engineer to join their Plant Operations Team. The position acts as a liaison between the Director of Plant Operations and the plant operations personnel, assisting in the monitoring and supervision of the hospital facilities, equipment, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assists the Director in the monitoring and supervision of the hospital facilities, equipment, and staff.
- Sets up work schedules and delegates specific job assignments to engineer personnel as approved by the Director of Plant Operations.
- Aids the Director in orienting new employees and contractors in plant operations functions.
- Performs maintenance involving inspection, greasing, oiling, adjusting, and cleaning on pressure boilers, hot water heating systems, and air handling units.
- Dismantles machinery and equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts, repairs, and replaces worn or broken parts.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director.
Qualifications
- High school graduate and/or vocational training
- City of Philadelphia Class "A" Stationary Engineer License
- Proficiency in several trades
- Ability to interpret blueprints and work from drawings
- Proficiency in building maintenance techniques
- Proficiency in the operations of elevators and emergency power generators
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience and demonstrate supervisory qualities
