About the Role

The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will lead Planned Companies' sales and marketing organization, driving sustainable, profitable revenue growth across all business lines. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring deep engagement with the sales team—coaching talent, strengthening client relationships, analyzing data, and personally participating in winning new business. The ideal candidate will possess industry expertise, an established network of executive relationships, and a passion for continuous improvement. They will work alongside the sales team, present to clients, evaluate analytics, implement AI solutions, and develop long-term growth strategy with the executive leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive consistent, profitable revenue growth across all business units.
  • Personally lead strategic business development efforts, including major pursuit opportunities, presentations, negotiations, and contract closings.
  • Expand Planned Companies' presence in existing and emerging vertical markets (commercial real estate, healthcare, education, residential, hospitality, etc.).
  • Leverage an established network of industry relationships to create new business opportunities and accelerate growth.
  • Build a disciplined, measurable sales process for predictable pipeline generation and accurate forecasting.
  • Continuously evaluate market conditions, competitive activity, client needs, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities.
  • Partner with FirstService Residential’s sales leadership to leverage shared tools, infrastructure, and best practices.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain exceptional sales talent to support long-term growth.
  • Mentor and coach a high-performing sales organization focused on accountability, execution, and measurable results.
  • Implement structured onboarding, training, and development programs to equip sales and marketing teams with necessary skills and tools.
  • Foster a culture of ownership around pipeline development, CRM discipline, forecasting accuracy, and sales execution.
  • Provide hands-on coaching through one-on-one meetings, pipeline reviews, deal strategy sessions, and client presentations.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for activity and outcomes.
  • Drive consistent execution of the go-to-market strategy, ensuring proactive engagement with current and prospective accounts.
  • Own the integrity, accuracy, and usability of all sales and marketing data, with expert-level knowledge of HubSpot and other sales platforms.
  • Analyze CRM data, conversion metrics, forecasting, pipeline health, and business trends to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Build dashboards and KPIs that provide meaningful business insights.
  • Ensure complete CRM adoption, data hygiene, and disciplined sales processes across the organization.
  • Lead the company’s integrated sales and marketing strategy to strengthen brand awareness and support revenue growth.
  • Align marketing initiatives with measurable business objectives, lead generation, and client acquisition.
  • Evaluate marketing ROI using performance metrics and drive innovation in digital marketing, content strategy, and demand generation.
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-powered tools to improve sales productivity, lead generation, and marketing automation.
  • Serve as a primary ambassador with clients, prospects, and strategic partners, building executive-level relationships.
  • Lead the company’s Major Account strategy and executive relationship management efforts.
  • Represent Planned Companies at industry conferences, trade associations, and client functions.
  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to establish long-term growth strategy and ensure alignment across operations, finance, and recruiting.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive executive sales leadership experience.
  • Significant experience in commercial real estate services, facility services, janitorial, security, hospitality, property management, or healthcare environmental services.
  • Demonstrated success leading high-performing sales organizations with consistent revenue growth.
  • An established network of executive relationships capable of generating new business opportunities.
  • Deep understanding of sales operations, CRM platforms (HubSpot preferred), pipeline management, forecasting, and sales analytics.
  • Experience implementing AI-enabled technologies to improve sales and marketing effectiveness.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing sales budgets, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Based within commuting distance of Planned Companies’ corporate headquarters in Parsippany, New Jersey, with a regular in-office presence.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (40–60%) to support client relationships, business development, and industry events.

Pay

$200,000–$250,000 base salary + performance-based bonus program (OTE $300,000–$365,000).
