Chief Product Officer (CPO)
About Allia Health Group
Allia Health Group (AHG) is building a vertically integrated digital health platform connecting compounding pharmacy, women’s and men’s telehealth, a provider-facing electronic health record (EHR), and AI/data infrastructure into one coordinated patient experience. Our portfolio includes a 503A compounding pharmacy, two direct-to-consumer telehealth brands, and a provider-network EHR launching in 2026. We are building a senior leadership team to scale this platform and are seeking our first Chief Product Officer to define and lead the product strategy that transforms a collection of strong businesses into one connected, durable healthcare system.
About the Role
This is AHG’s first dedicated product executive. You will build and lead the product discipline across the company: what we build, for whom, why, and in what order.
Your scope spans consumer DTC subscription products across women’s and men’s telehealth, a provider-facing EHR, the clinical layer supporting our pharmacy business, and the shared patient platform connecting these experiences. The CPO owns demand: user problems, product strategy, roadmap and prioritization, discovery, and product outcomes. The CTO owns supply: architecture, engineering, data infrastructure, security, reliability, and delivery. The CPO and CTO are peers, both reporting to the CEO.
This is a builder role for a product leader energized by creating a function from the ground up, establishing discovery and design disciplines, building a high-performing product organization, and being accountable for whether patients and providers actually use and value what we ship.
How the Role Works
AHG operates as a multi-entity platform, with each business unit led by its own CEO and P&L. The CPO leads Product as a shared enterprise-wide capability while directly owning product for the shared patient platform and new provider EHR. Direct ownership includes:
- Shared cross-brand patient platform
- Provider-network EHR
- Product discovery, design, research, and analytics
- Product talent and organizational development
Partnership ownership includes:
- Business-unit roadmaps, developed in partnership with BU leadership
- Product prioritization, evidence, and UX strategy across the portfolio
- Serving as the trusted executive partner for product challenges and decisions
The role succeeds through influence, evidence, outcomes, and partnership, rather than positional authority. The CTO retains ownership of data warehouse/BI, cloud and platform architecture, security/SOC 2, ERP and infrastructure vendors, engineering delivery, and AI/ML infrastructure and safety systems. Product defines what these systems must enable and why.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Prioritization
- Own product strategy for each business and the overall portfolio, clearly defining user problems, hypotheses, desired outcomes, and strategic tradeoffs.
- Prioritize product and engineering capacity based on value and outcomes rather than competing requests.
- Champion a “connected system over isolated products” approach, creating a unified patient identity and experience across brands.
Product Discovery & Evidence
- Establish continuous customer and provider discovery, including interviews, prototyping, usability testing, and validated problem definition.
- Require major initiatives to have clear discovery evidence, hypotheses, and success metrics before significant investment.
Design, Research & Product Quality
- Build product design, user research, and design-system capabilities across AHG.
- Establish consistent standards for accessibility, interaction design, and product quality.
- Advocate for patients, providers, and pharmacists when speed-to-market conflicts with usability or quality.
Outcomes & Product Analytics
- Own product outcomes including consumer activation and retention, provider activation and retention, medication adherence, and patient experience/NPS.
- Establish product analytics as a discipline distinct from business intelligence, including event instrumentation, cohort/funnel analysis, and experimentation.
Healthcare Product Leadership
- EHR & Provider Experience: Map and prototype clinical workflows before production development and own the provider activation funnel end to end.
- Clinical AI: Define strategy for AI features serving patients and clinicians, including ambient documentation/scribing, while partnering with the CTO on AI infrastructure and safety.
- Chronic Care: Develop the clinical engagement layer covering adherence, side-effect management, and dose support to create a durable chronic-care experience.
- Platform & Interoperability: Lead the strategic decision around a connected, multi-brand patient experience and ensure the shared platform and EHR are API-first and standards-based, including HL7/FHIR interoperability.
- Regulated by Design: Partner with Compliance and Clinical teams to ensure HIPAA, telehealth, FDA, and clinical-safety requirements are incorporated from the beginning.
AI-First Product Organization
- Treat AI as a core product capability, not a bolt-on feature, across triage, coaching, documentation, adherence, follow-up, and decision support.
- Establish proportionate human oversight based on the risk and potential impact of AI-driven decisions.
- Build an AI-native product organization using AI across research synthesis, prototyping, competitive analysis, PRDs, and product analytics.
- Establish trust standards for AI products, including transparency, confidence signals, auditability, and clear human override.
Team & Executive Leadership
- Build the Product organization, including hiring, leveling, career paths, and development of product managers, designers, and researchers.
- Partner closely with the CTO and engineering leadership: Product owns what and why; Engineering owns how.
- Translate company strategy into product roadmaps and communicate product outcomes to the executive team and board.
What Success Looks Like — First 12 Months
- A documented product strategy exists for each business and the overall portfolio and is actively driving prioritization.
- Discovery, design, user research, and product analytics are established as functioning disciplines with key early hires in place.
- The provider EHR has mapped clinical workflows, a defined ambient-AI strategy, and a measurable provider activation funnel before or at launch.
- Core outcome metrics—including retention, provider activation, adherence, and NPS—are instrumented, visible to leadership, and owned by Product.
- Business-unit leaders view the CPO as a trusted partner for roadmap decisions and product challenges.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 12+ years of product experience, including 5+ years in an executive product leadership role such as CPO, SVP/VP Product, or equivalent.
- Experience in digital health, healthtech, regulated SaaS, enterprise technology, or a similarly complex environment.
- Proven success building and scaling multi-product or platform ecosystems, rather than managing a single product line.
- Direct experience operating in regulated environments; healthcare is strongly preferred, with fintech or similarly regulated industries considered.
- Experience spanning both consumer DTC subscription products (acquisition, activation, retention) and provider/clinical products (workflow, adoption, clinical experience).
- Proven partnership with CTO/engineering leadership and a strong understanding of demand vs. supply decision rights.
- Experience building product discovery, design, user research, and product analytics functions from the ground up.
- Demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered products, ideally including LLM and agentic-AI use cases, with a clear perspective on safety, oversight, and trust in regulated or high-stakes environments.
Skills & Attributes
- Strategic thinker who converts vision into evidence-based, prioritized roadmaps and knows when to say “no.”
- Strong product-led-growth and outcomes orientation; fluent in retention, activation, cohorts, funnels, and experimentation.
- High bar for design, research, usability, and product quality.
- Influence-first leader comfortable operating across autonomous business units.
- AI-native in how you work and lead, using AI across discovery, prototyping, research, and analysis.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect product investment to revenue, margin, and enterprise value.
- Excellent communication and executive presence; calm, decisive, and clarifying in ambiguity and high-growth environments.
