Chief Plumbing Inspector Plans Examiner

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position will be responsible for overseeing building inspections, ensuring compliance with local building codes, and providing technical guidance to developers and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all building inspection activities to ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance to developers, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding building code requirements.
• Conduct inspections of construction sites, residential buildings, and commercial structures to ensure adherence to safety standards.
• Issue permits and maintain records of all building-related activities.
• Participate in code enforcement actions and provide support during investigations.
• Develop and implement training programs for staff and clients on building codes and safety practices.
• Stay updated on changes to building codes and regulations and communicate these updates to the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field.
• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Experience with building permit processing and issuance.
• Knowledge of construction materials and techniques.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and measurements.

Pay

Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually, depending on experience.

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
