Chief Packaging Facility Technician

Duties

• Equipment maintenance, repair, and acquisition
• Hand tool accountability and control
• Facility management
• Facility safety and hazardous material control
• Container testing and evaluation
• Fabrication and assembly process support
• Material handling and reorganization
• Assisting with quality assurance for prototype and production units
• Assisting with in-house projects and process improvements
• Assisting in the preparation and release of technical reports

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical certificate from an accredited technical college, trade school, vocational school, or apprenticeship program in a relevant field
• 15 years of work experience with equipment maintenance, repair, or similar
• 5 years demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to follow complex instructions with the fabrication and assembly of packaging with no supervision and mentor younger personnel
• 5 years experience with quality assurance, maintenance record keeping, and related efforts
• Track record of identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement
• Experience working with the US Air Force
• 3 years experience working with the Air Force Packaging Technology & Engineering Facility (AFPTEF)
• Effective written communication skills
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite – namely Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Attention to detail
