About the role
The Arthur Smith Institute for Urology at Northwell Health is seeking a physician leader for the position of Chief of Urology at Northern Westchester Hospital. This role involves collaborating with the chair on all clinical operations, ensuring high-quality patient care, developing and standardizing care processes and protocols, fostering a culture of scholarship in quality improvement, health equity, and outcomes, and maintaining the productivity of physician faculty and support staff.
Responsibilities
- Work with the chair on all matters related to clinical operations
- Ensure high-quality patient care through development and standardization of care processes and protocols
- Continue to develop a culture of scholarship in quality improvement, health equity, and outcomes
- Ensure the productivity of physician faculty and support staff
- Maintain and improve upon the excellence within the department
Requirements
- MD Degree or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine
- Completion of residency and fellowship with Board Certification or eligibility
- Current or eligible for New York State License
- Outstanding communication and management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital management, and staff
- Previous division, department, or program leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized training in Robotics, Female Pelvic, or Uro-Oncology
About the department
The Smith Institute for Urology at Northwell Health has seen tremendous growth over the past five years within Long Island, New York City, and Westchester, with the goal of providing comprehensive, integrated healthcare and wellness services. The department specializes in minimally invasive procedures to treat urologic diseases affecting the bladder, kidneys, male genitalia, and prostate.
Physicians in the department are also faculty of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and are instrumental in providing excellent quality care as well as developing innovative treatments and technologies. The department offers weekly conferences to stay updated on the latest treatments and technologies, supports residencies, and has an extensive network of physician extenders. The mission is to advance the frontiers of urologic care.
