Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level strategic and operational support to the President & CEO, including developing and managing projects with specific plans, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail, quality, and deadlines.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for corporate communications, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, timely, and aligned with organizational strategy and values.
  • Support internal and external communications related to major initiatives, organizational announcements, public events, media matters, community engagement, and executive messaging.
  • Work with communications staff and leaders to develop communication plans, talking points, press materials, presentations, newsletters, web content, social media messaging, and other materials as needed.
  • Ensure the President & CEO is well-prepared for public-facing communications, media interactions, community events, and stakeholder presentations; including involvement and coordination of state level government relations.
  • Promote disciplined, proactive, and strategic communication across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in business administration, public administration, communications, health administration, or a related field highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in executive support, strategic communications, project management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex projects and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level materials.
  • Direct involvement in communications leadership including social media, digital media, analytics and progressive communication and marketing campaigns.
  • Healthcare experience preferred.

  • High degree of professionalism, responsiveness, and follow-through.

Measures of Success

  • Effective implementation of key projects with measurable results.
  • Organizational communications are timely, clear, coordinated, and aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities.
  • Internal and external messaging is consistent across executive communications, employee communications, board materials, media statements, community messaging, web content, presentations, and social media.
  • Improved Meritus brand, increased social media engagement, improved organizational performance through marketing of Meritus services.
  • Dashboards and quality improvement are managed with no gaps, including support of Baldrige deployment system wide.

Compensation

Salary range: $135,000 to $175,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and organizational compensation practices.
