About the Company Our client is a boutique investment banking advisory firm focused on serving founders, entrepreneurs, and investors across the technology, media, and telecommunications sectors. While intentionally lean today, the firm is experiencing rapid growth and has ambitious plans to expand over the next several years. The team advises clients on complex mergers & acquisitions and strategic transactions, earning a reputation for thoughtful advice, trusted relationships, and exceptional execution. Rather than operating like a traditional investment bank, they’ve built a highly collaborative, entrepreneurial environment where every team member has a meaningful influence on the firm’s success. The Big Picture This isn’t the kind of Chief of Staff role where you’ll simply manage a calendar and sit in meetings. This is an opportunity to become the operational heartbeat of a growing advisory firm while building relationships with founders, investors, and industry leaders. You’ll partner directly with the Founder, helping ensure the business runs seamlessly behind the scenes while also representing the firm externally through events, communications, and relationship management. Roughly 75% of your time will focus on operations, administration, and flawless execution. The remaining 25% will center on business development, strategic relationships, and expanding the firm’s network and visibility. It’s an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to grow into broader operational or commercial leadership over time. Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who embraces AI and emerging technology as force multipliers. Rather than accepting repetitive administrative work as the status quo, you’ll be encouraged to identify opportunities to automate workflows, streamline processes, and implement AI-powered solutions that increase efficiency across the firm. The goal isn’t simply to work faster, but to continually elevate the role from tactical execution toward higher-value strategic work. As the firm grows, you’ll help build the operating systems that allow the leadership team to spend more time advising clients and cultivating relationships, and less time managing routine tasks. What You’ll Tackle You’ll quickly become the person who keeps the firm’s priorities moving forward. Operations & Execution Prepare executives for high-stakes meetings through thoughtful research, relationship context, and briefing materials. Keep projects moving by tracking commitments, deadlines, and action items across the firm. Coordinate executive meetings, strategic dinners, networking events, and industry gatherings from planning through execution. Maintain CRM systems, relationship databases, and internal operating processes. Create structure, organization, and accountability across a fast-moving business. Business Development & Relationship Management Serve as a trusted extension of the firm’s leadership team. Build and deepen relationships with founders, investors, strategic partners, and other key stakeholders. Manage introductions, follow-ups, and ongoing relationship touchpoints. Help develop thought leadership through newsletters, events, and curated content. Support initiatives that strengthen the firm’s brand, visibility, and long-term network. What You Bring Experience This role is designed for someone early in their career who has already demonstrated exceptional potential. You might currently be: An Executive Assistant supporting senior executives. An operator at an early-stage company. An analyst looking for a more entrepreneurial environment. Someone who has worked in government, political campaigns, professional services, or another fast-paced, relationship-driven environment. We’re looking for someone who brings: Two or more years of professional experience. Outstanding project management and organizational skills. Exceptional relationship-building abilities and executive presence. High emotional intelligence and sound judgment. The ability to manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail. Absolute professionalism, discretion, and integrity. Experience in investment banking, venture capital, private equity, professional services, or the broader technology ecosystem is a plus, but not required. Strong writing and communication skills will also set you apart. You Tend To Be… Naturally curious and always looking to learn. Highly proactive. You don’t wait to be told what to do. Comfortable shifting between strategic conversations and detailed execution. Calm under pressure and confident navigating ambiguity. Someone who follows through on every commitment. Equally comfortable coordinating logistics or sitting at a dinner table with founders and investors. Energized by building meaningful relationships over time. Where This Can Go This role was intentionally designed with growth in mind. Depending on your strengths and interests, there are multiple paths forward, including: Head of Operations Chief Operating Officer Business Development leadership Marketing & platform development Investment banking analyst or associate The firm’s vision is to invest heavily in your development while giving you increasing responsibility as both you and the business grow. Long term, success in this role means becoming the founder’s trusted right hand, leading complex projects, managing high-profile events, and developing your own network of founders, investors, and industry leaders. The Perks & Practicalities Location Downtown Manhattan, New York Compensation Base Salary: $70,000-$85,000 Target Bonus: Up to $25,000 based on firm performance Benefits Full-time position with benefits.
