About the role

This is a full-time remote position responsible for overseeing day-to-day organizational operations and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. The Chief of Staff/Operations Director coordinates cross-functional initiatives, manages internal workflows, and supports executive leadership with planning, prioritization, and decision-making. The role involves optimizing processes, managing project timelines, tracking organizational performance metrics, and facilitating effective communication across teams and stakeholders. The Chief of Staff/Operations Director will also help drive partnerships, support program delivery, and maintain a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Location: Remote with 30% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior managers in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans.
  • Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration for all STS events and initiatives.
  • Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity.
  • Analyze current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement where necessary.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes to provide visibility into the goals, progress, and obstacles of key initiatives.
  • Draw on relationships with department heads, external partners, and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
  • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
  • Devise strategies for ensuring the growth of programs enterprise-wide, and implement process improvements to maximize output and minimize costs.
  • Adhere to the company’s policies and standards, and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Sports Directors and the Headquarters team, ensuring effective communication, coordination, and execution of sport-specific seminars, workshops, and educational programming.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate weekly kickoff and closeout meetings to align priorities, track progress, address challenges, and ensure successful execution of organizational initiatives.
  • Onsite organization and leadership of live events.
  • Help curate educational environments for STS.
  • Miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements

  • Laptop or Desktop Computer that meets Microsoft Teams requirements, Internet access, phone service.
  • Strong understanding of program management tools.
  • Strong understanding and capability of various social media platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, TikTok.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office, Teams, Web Browser, Salesforce, Kajabi).

Qualifications

  • Strong operational management and organizational skills, including experience streamlining processes, managing projects, and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic planning and execution abilities, with demonstrated capacity to support leadership, set priorities, and translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience facilitating meetings, preparing reports, and engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities, including mentoring staff, promoting collaboration, and fostering an inclusive, mission-focused culture.
  • Comfort with remote work tools and technologies, and the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing needs.
  • Experience in nonprofit, athletics, veteran, or military-affiliated organizations is highly beneficial.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Commitment to the mission of empowering service members through coaching and a strong interest in sports, coaching, or athletic programming.

Pay

$80,000/year (Bonus at Executive Director discretion).
