Chief of Emergency Medicine

HCA Florida Raulerson Hospital is seeking a full-time Chief of Emergency Medicine to lead their practice in Okeechobee, Florida.

About the role

Will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Emergency Medicine department, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Emergency Department, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
• Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and staff performance.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the Emergency Medicine team.
• Participate in medical staff meetings and committees as needed.

Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM)
• Will consider Board-Certified Family Medicine (ABFM) or Board-Certified Internal Medicine (ABIM) with a minimum of 24 months of current Emergency Medicine experience
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in Emergency Medicine
• Experience leading a multidisciplinary team
• Strong clinical skills and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
