About the Role

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is seeking a Chief of Emergency Medicine Physician to join the dynamic team in the Emergency Department (ED) and surrounding Freestanding Emergency Departments (FSEDs).

The ED has a volume of 84,000 visits annually (adult and pediatric) with physicians seeing approximately 2.1 patients per hour. The hospital features a 36-bed ED with a 10-chair Fast Track, 12 pediatric ED beds (24-hour coverage), and 55 hours of physician coverage for adults along with 12 hours of Advanced Practice Provider coverage. The facility also includes four associated FSEDs (Town and Country, Doral, Cutler Bay, and South Dade), where physicians will rotate through all locations.

The hospital supports an ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine Residency Program and offers EM Fellowship Programs in Ultrasound, Administration, and Operations. The EMR systems in use are Meditech, Pdoc, and Dragon Dictation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the Emergency Medicine department and associated FSEDs.
  • Provide physician coverage and rotation across all locations.
  • Support and participate in the ACGME-accredited Emergency Medicine Residency Program and EM Fellowship Programs.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Emergency Medicine Residency.
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine within the last 5 years.
  • Ideally, at least 5 years of experience as a Chief or Director in Emergency Medicine.
  • Active ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications.

HCA Florida Kendall Hospital is a 447-bed, full-service hospital providing 24-hour comprehensive medical, trauma, surgical, behavioral health, and diagnostic services to Miami-Dade County. The hospital holds a Level I Trauma Center designation and is the area’s only Adult and Pediatric Burn Center.
