Chief of Breast Imaging

About the role

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret medical images to determine patient status and future medical care
• Determine exact images required for diagnosis and delivering orders to Radiological Technicians
• Administer trace amounts of radioactive substances to create and enhance diagnostic images
• Perform minimally invasive surgical techniques such as embolization, angioplasty and ablation with image guidance
• Work with Primary Care Doctors, Nurses and Radiology Technicians to administer treatment and manage pain
• Maintain patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Create a radiation treatment plan for patients with cancer
• Manage radiation side effects in cancer patients

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a record of clinical excellence, strong teaching abilities, and scholarly interests.

Qualifications

• Education/Academic Credentials: M.D., D.O. or foreign equivalent medical degree; board certification in Radiology; fellowship training and/or extensive experience in breast imaging including breast MRI and tomosynthesis preferred; eligibility for licensure in Colorado
• Experience training and mentoring residents and fellows strongly preferred
• Track record of academic and/or educational scholarship to support appointment at a rank of Associate Professor or Professor strongly preferred

Knowledge of and ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures and techniques.
