Job Summary

The primary liaison to the Medical Staff, this individual establishes processes and policies ensuring two-way communication between the Medical Staff and hospital administrators. They facilitate Medical Staff activities and support initiatives of the President and Officers. In collaboration with administration, they develop and maintain physician contracts with hospital policies and practices. They actively support compliance with Medical Staff bylaws, processes, and procedures, and assist the MEC in overseeing physician adherence to bylaws and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes processes and policies for two-way communication between Medical Staff and hospital administrators.
  • Facilitates Medical Staff activities and supports initiatives of the President and Officers.
  • Develops and maintains physician contracts with hospital policies and practices.
  • Supports compliance with Medical Staff bylaws, processes, and procedures.
  • Assists Medical Executive Committee (MEC) in overseeing physician adherence to bylaws and regulatory standards.
  • Participates in assessing Hospital needs regarding physicians and actively participates in the recruitment process.
  • Affirms and acts to improve physician satisfaction.
  • Coordinates all Hospital's education programs including undergraduate, graduate (Family Medicine and Podiatry Residencies), and continuing medical education.
  • Serves as supervisor and overseer of staff to support Continuing Medical Education (CME) and the Medical Library.
  • Creates policies and guidelines to implement policies and practices for education and training of Medical and other NAH staff members.
  • Supervises the staff of the Medical Staff, CME, and Library Services to ensure compliance with Hospital Policy.
  • Conducts performance reviews, interviews, and manages staff to maximize quality and productivity.
  • Adheres to budget and provides oversight to department policy development and implementation.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of MD experience
  • 2 to 3 years of leadership experience
  • Graduate of an accredited school of medicine
  • MUST BE A LICENSED PHYSICIAN IN THE STATE OF ILLINOIS
