About the role

Responsibilities
- Assures overall continuity of the hospice medical services.
- Assures the patient receives appropriate measures to control uncomfortable symptoms.
- Re-certify patients, as appropriate, for continuation of Medicare Hospice benefit at appropriate levels of care.
- Serving as a medical resource to Hospice staff, patients, families, and attending physicians regarding pain and symptom management.
Requirements
- Licensed physician under the provisions of the California Business and Professions Code
- Board certification from American Board of Hospice & Palliative medicine preferred or to be achieved within two years of employment.
- Demonstrated understanding, acceptance, and experience with hospice principles of care.
- Current and active medical physician license in the state of California
- Current DEA license
- Current California Driver’s license and automobile insurance that meets the State of California requirement, if driving a car.
