About the role
HCA Florida Aventura Hospital is seeking a full-time Chief of Emergency Medicine for the Emergency Department, to join their premier practice in North Miami. An affiliated full-time staff emergency physician role (FSER) is also available, with an additional FSER opening slated for mid-2027.
About the position
- Level II Trauma Center treating over 60,000 patients annually at the Main Campus
- 40% admission rate
- Physician coverage allowing for a comfortable physician-to-patient-hour ratio of 2.16
- 24-hour in-house Trauma, Intensivist, Anesthesia, and Hospitalist coverage
- EMR is Meditech Pdoc with M-Modal (Expanse upgrade planned)
- GME Programs in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Surgery, Radiology, Transitional Year and Podiatry
Qualifications
- Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited (or acceptable equivalent) postgraduate training program in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
- Florida licensed with DEA and at least 3 years of leadership experience

HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and Medical Center (AHMC) is a 407-bed, acute care community hospital serving Miami-Dade and Broward counties. AHMC has been nationally recognized as a Joint Commission Certified Primary Stroke Center and an AHCA Comprehensive Stroke Center, and is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care. The Florida Department of Health has designated AHMC as a Level II trauma center (one of only three in Miami-Dade County). AHMC is a major referral center for complex neurosurgical, orthopedic, cardiac, endovascular neurosurgical and vascular cases.
