Chamberlain Advisors is conducting an executive search for Certum Legal Solutions (CLS), a technology-forward legal services platform building a national, vertically integrated personal injury and mass tort enterprise. CLS brings insurance, litigation funding, and legal-service solutions together under a single platform, a combination no other organization in the market offers, and acquires and integrates leading plaintiff law firms across the United States.
Location: Remote within the United States
Travel: As needed to company operations and acquired-firm locations
About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Marketing & Intake Officer will own marketing and intake end-to-end, sitting atop both lead generation and conversion so that one executive is accountable for the cost and quality of every acquired case. This is a greenfield build. The incoming officer will stand up the marketing engine and the intake function on the platform's Salesforce-centric foundation, deploy capital across the full channel spectrum, and scale the function across a rapidly growing multi-brand portfolio.
Core Profile
- Strategic Ownership of Marketing & Intake / Executive Partnership: Own the platform's marketing and intake function end-to-end, accountable for turning marketing spend into signed, retained cases at a defensible cost. Partner directly with the CEO and COO/CTO to own the function's P&L and set acquisition strategy across a growing multi-brand portfolio, defending every channel and spend decision with data.
- Hands-On Greenfield Builder: Stand up the marketing organization from scratch, hiring operators to bid and reallocate capital daily, and launch a live, measurable campaign within roughly the first sixty days. Recruit and develop a Director of Marketing and build toward a 24/7 multi-channel contact center over roughly twelve months. A bias to action is essential—an eighty-percent-good solution now beats a perfect one in six months.
- Technology, AI & Salesforce Ownership: Partner closely with the COO/CTO on a Salesforce-centric marketing and intake stack, operating as a power user who builds reports and dashboards. Stand up marketing integrations from zero, harden them with redundancy, and identify where AI (e.g., voice agents, automation) lifts performance while keeping humans in the loop for legal disclaimers and distressed callers.
- Multi-Channel Capital Deployment & Integration: Deploy capital across paid digital, search, social, performance affiliate networks, and mass media (TV, radio, out-of-home), calibrating the blend tort-by-tort and market-by-market. Direct agency and aggregator partners, decide what to centralize vs. leave at the operating company, and shift the mix toward owned demand. Assess each acquired firm’s market opportunity and build its growth plan.
- Mission-Aligned Cultural Fit: Share the platform’s mission of helping injured and wronged people secure compensation. Operate within an ego-checked, accountability-first culture: humility with confidence, problems surfaced early, and respect for all colleagues. Lead change through influence, treating founder-attorneys as partners with real stakes.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Multi-Channel Capital Deployment
- Channel Strategy & Spend: Set channel strategy tort-by-tort and market-by-market across paid digital, search, social, performance affiliate/aggregator networks, and mass media (TV, radio, out-of-home). Allocate and reallocate spend against performance data.
- Capital Deployment at Scale: Hire and lead the team that bids and reallocates capital daily, holding operators accountable to KPIs as deployment scales toward a nine-figure annual marketing investment.
- Agency & Aggregator Management: Direct agency partners and lead-aggregator relationships, centralizing where strategic and reducing third-party lead dependency over time.
- Regulated, Multistate Complexity: Navigate rules of professional conduct across states, building a scalable approach while accounting for jurisdictional differences.
Intake & Conversion Operations
- Lead-to-Retainer Conversion: Own qualification of raw leads and their conversion to signed, retained cases, with quality control before handoff to operations.
- Contact-Center Buildout: Partner with intake leadership to build a 24/7 multi-channel contact center (phone, web, chat, SMS) within ~12 months, sized to flex on demand, with DocuSign/SMS retainers.
- Conversion KPIs: Own answer rate (≥90%), speed-to-lead, scripting, and lead-to-retained conversion. Set quality standards for claimants making high-stakes decisions under stress.
- Build for Volume: Instrument every funnel stage and scale to ~1,000 leads/day signing 50–60 cases/day.
Performance Analytics & Unit Economics
- Cost Per Acquired Case: Own cost per acquired/retained case as the north-star metric, supported by cost-per-lead and full-funnel tracking (leads → solid leads → signed cases).
- Willingness-to-Pay by Case Type: Calibrate acquisition cost against case value (routine to catastrophic) and track payout speed/amount.
- Attribution & Reporting: Build attribution frameworks, dashboards, and board-grade reporting, capturing metadata (device, browser, time of day, ad engagement) to guide spend.
- Defend Every Dollar: Frame investment in case economics for the executive team and investors, using data over anecdote.
Technology, AI & Salesforce Enablement
- Salesforce Power User: Own the function’s outputs on a Salesforce-centric stack, building reports/dashboards and understanding the architecture.
- Resilient Integrations: Stand up marketing integrations from zero, hardening them with redundancy and checkpoints to detect failures.
- Production AI: Partner with the COO/CTO to deploy generative/agentic AI (e.g., voice agents, automated record pulls), keeping humans in the loop for disclaimers and distressed callers.
- Workflow-First Thinking: Design technology solutions alongside workflows to eliminate manual workarounds.
Leadership, Integration & Culture
- Build the Team: Recruit and develop the marketing/intake organization (50+ people), holding operators accountable to consistent metrics.
- Per-Firm Integration: Assess each acquired firm’s market opportunity, build its growth plan, and absorb its marketing/intake on a 30/60/90-day arc.
- Founder-Attorney Partnership: Lead change through influence, treating founders as partners with real stakes. Capture quick wins early; address structural change after trust is earned.
- Accountability & Candor: Surface problems early, own mistakes, and communicate status proactively.
Requirements
- 10+ years of marketing leadership in high-volume, consumer-facing environments with progressive P&L ownership.
- Deep command of consumer marketing across paid digital, search, social, performance affiliate/aggregator networks, and mass media (TV, radio, out-of-home).
- Personal-injury or legal marketing experience strongly preferred; adjacent regulated DTC verticals (e.g., debt consolidation, revenue-cycle management, mortgage, RIA/wealth) considered if funnel economics and multistate complexity transfer cleanly.
- Working command of high-volume intake/contact-center operations to lead conversion to a high standard.
- Fluency in consumer-acquisition economics: cost per acquired case, cost-per-lead, funnel analysis, and attribution.
- Experience marketing regulated, multistate professional services, with command of jurisdictional differences.
- Current understanding of generative-engine optimization and AI-driven discovery (not legacy SEO).
- Salesforce power user preferred (build reports/dashboards, understand architecture).
- Hands-on experience with generative/agentic AI in production; orientation to experiment and adopt new tech.
- Track record of building a function from the ground up and launching live campaigns quickly in high-growth environments.
- Experience in PE-backed or acquisitive multi-brand environments (preferred), including presenting to executives/investors.
- Ability to lead acquired-firm change through influence and data (not authority).
- Remote within the U.S.; Dallas/DFW area preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
