Responsibilities
- Lead all inspection activities in accordance with FAA Part 145 regulations, the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), and customer requirements
- Develop, implement, and maintain inspection procedures for incoming, in-process, and final inspections
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and approved technical data
- Manage the Repair Station Quality Assurance Program, including internal audits, supplier audits, and corrective action initiatives
- Review and approve maintenance releases, inspection records, work orders, and regulatory documentation
- Investigate non-conformances and lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records, traceability documentation, and record retention requirements in accordance with FAA regulations
- Monitor tooling, test equipment, calibration systems, and inspection processes to ensure regulatory compliance
- Lead, mentor, and develop the inspection team while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Partner with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and customers to resolve quality and compliance issues
- Support FAA audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections
- Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices while driving continuous improvement across the quality organization
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related technical discipline preferred
- FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required
- Minimum of 5 years of aviation maintenance and inspection experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience within aircraft maintenance or quality organizations
- Strong knowledge of FAA Part 145 regulations, RSM, QCM, technical manuals, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Experience leading quality assurance programs, internal audits, supplier audits, and corrective action initiatives
- Strong understanding of root cause analysis, quality systems, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience with maintenance documentation, inspection records, calibration systems, and aircraft parts traceability
- Proficiency with maintenance management software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent leadership, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
- Previous Chief Inspector experience within an FAA Part 145 Repair Station and ASQ quality certifications are a plus
