About the role

We're looking for an experienced Chief Inspector to lead the inspection and return-to-service (RTS) function within a certified aviation maintenance environment. This role ensures all engine accessories and components are inspected, documented, and approved for return to service in compliance with FAA Part 145, EASA Part 145, manufacturer manuals, and regulatory requirements. The position operates with independent inspection authority and the ability to place quality holds when airworthiness concerns exist.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and maintain the Repair Station Inspection System in accordance with FAA Part 145 and EASA Part 145 requirements
  • Exercise Return-to-Service authority and approve airworthiness release documentation, including FAA Form 8130-3 and EASA Form 1
  • Oversee receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities
  • Ensure compliance with current CMMs, Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), and approved work instructions
  • Manage inspector authorizations, qualifications, and training compliance
  • Review and disposition non-conforming materials, including acceptance, rejection, and quarantine decisions
  • Participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities and support resolution of inspection-related findings
  • Support FAA/EASA audits, customer audits, and regulatory surveillance activities
  • Coordinate inspection priorities with operations to support production schedules and RTS planning
  • Maintain independent authority to place and sustain quality holds until compliance requirements are met

Requirements

  • FAA A&P Certificate required; Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred
  • 7+ years of aviation MRO inspection experience, including leadership experience within a Part 145 repair station
  • Strong knowledge of FAA Part 145 and EASA Part 145 regulations
  • Hands-on experience inspecting aircraft engine accessories, components, or related LRUs
  • Expertise in CMM-driven inspection processes, AD compliance verification, and SB applicability reviews
  • Experience completing FAA Form 8130-3 and EASA Form 1 documentation
  • Strong understanding of quality systems, audit requirements, and corrective action processes
  • Effective leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and maintenance/work-order management systems
  • EASA Part 66 certification preferred
