About the role

The Bank Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for overseeing the Bank's technology strategies and ensuring that all technological systems align with the Bank's business objectives. This role is pivotal in driving innovation, ensuring cybersecurity measures, and optimizing operational efficiency through the effective use of information technology.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the Bank's IT strategy in alignment with its overall business goals.
  • Technology Infrastructure Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Bank's technology infrastructure, including networks, systems, and applications.
  • Cybersecurity and Risk Management: Implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect the Bank's systems and data from internal and external threats. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
  • Data Management: Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, security, and privacy of the Bank's data assets.
  • Digital Innovation: Identify opportunities for leveraging emerging technologies to drive innovation and enhance customer experience.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring that they deliver high-quality products and services in line with the Bank's requirements.
  • Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Provide leadership and guidance to the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that the Bank's IT systems and processes comply with regulatory requirements, including those related to data protection, cybersecurity, and information security.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Communicate regularly with senior management, Board members, and other stakeholders to provide updates on IT initiatives, risks, and performance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT leadership roles within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of banking operations, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale IT initiatives and managing complex technology projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance to Salt Lake City, UT.

Preferred qualifications

  • Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, ITIL) are a plus.

Schedule

  • This is a hybrid role, requiring in-office presence two days per week.
  • Ability to work various shifts to accommodate business needs, typically between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability as needed.
  • Travel requirements are estimated at 0-10%.
