The BridgeWay, located in North Little Rock, Arkansas, is a 127-bed facility offering inpatient and outpatient programs for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing behavioral, emotional, or addictive problems. Founded in 1983, BridgeWay serves Arkansans from a picturesque, wooded location in Central Arkansas, less than 20 minutes from Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport and downtown Little Rock—a midsize city with arts, entertainment, nightlife, outdoor activities, and sporting events.
Responsibilities
- Monitors and controls accounts receivables.
- Oversees Business Office functions to ensure cash collection goals are met and net revenue is properly stated.
- Facilitates weekly A/R meetings with the CEO and Business Office Manager to communicate results and monitor areas of weakness.
- Monitors and improves relationships between the Business Office, Intake, and Utilization Review departments to maximize patient revenue.
- Improves hospital profitability by continually monitoring costs, especially staffing relative to patient volume.
- Monitors payor mix and length of stay to maximize reimbursement.
- Assists in negotiating contract terms with third-party payers.
- Prepares pro-forma analyses for new programs, contracts, and physician arrangements to determine estimated outcomes.
- Develops and monitors policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduced operating costs, and increased revenues.
- Prepares monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports/analyses.
- Uses account analysis, variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls to prepare detailed financial statements reflecting monthly operating results.
- Provides reconciliations, account analyses, and other information for the Reimbursement Department, Tax Department, Auditors, etc.
- Prepares the annual budget in conjunction with UHS standards, reviewing prior financial results and anticipated changes with management and department heads.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a healthcare setting.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Working knowledge of hospital financial operations, federal and local tax regulations, and all business office, accounting, payroll, and administrative office operations (from registration through discharge).
- Skilled in interpreting financial analysis and performance information, preparing schedules and reports, and using electronic spreadsheets and databases.
- 2% travel required.
