About the role
Kirton McConkie, one of the largest and most respected law firms in the Intermountain West, is seeking a highly accomplished CFO/Director of Finance to serve as the firm's senior financial leader. This pivotal executive role oversees all financial and accounting functions and plays a critical part in shaping the firm's strategic direction.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting department
- Provide executive oversight of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, internal controls, banking relationships, tax coordination, shareholder compensation, and all other financial operations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to firm leadership, delivering financial analysis, strategic insights, and guidance that inform key business decisions
- Report to the Director of Administration (COO)
Qualifications
- Minimum of seven to ten years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and financial management, with demonstrated success in a senior leadership capacity
- Proven track record of hands-on leadership and management of an accounting department, including direct supervision and development of professional staff
- Exceptional judgment, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders, including attorneys and firm leadership
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required; CPA designation or advanced degree (MBA) strongly preferred
- Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment required
