Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Responsibilities
- Provide financial leadership across all operating companies, ensuring alignment with portfolio objectives
- Lead consolidated financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial performance analysis
- Develop standardized financial processes, reporting structures, and accountability systems to improve visibility, consistency, and decision-making
- Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable financial information to executive leadership
- Partner closely with operations leadership to align financial performance with field execution, labor productivity, and project outcomes
- Develop KPI reporting to improve forecasting accuracy, margin performance, and operational discipline
- Translate operational data into actionable financial insights for profitability and continuous improvement
- Oversee job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, project cash flow, contract performance, change orders, claims, and project financial controls
- Improve project-level financial discipline, forecasting accuracy, and cost tracking
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership, providing clear financial insights
Requirements
- Active CPA designation
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Five or more years of CFO or senior financial leadership experience within the mechanical construction industry
- Significant experience in construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, plumbing, controls, fabrication, service, or related industries
- Deep expertise in job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, project cash flow, and construction financial management
- Proven success leading finance teams in complex, multi-disciplinary environments
- Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Able to operate strategically and engage actively in day-to-day operations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
