About the role

Lifepoint Health seeks a Chief Financial Officer to oversee Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, North Carolina. Located since 1911, Frye Regional Medical Center serves the health needs of the Catawba Valley region with a focus on patient experience and clinical outcomes. It includes a 355-bed acute care hospital, a 32-bed emergency department, and a 15-bed surgical suite.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of all financial departments for fiscal responsibility of the hospital
  • Administers general accounting, patient business services, including third party reimbursement, financial, and statistical reporting functions
  • Directs data processing, distributed systems, material management, and medical records functions
  • Develops long and short-range operational and capital budgets
  • Prepares cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses
  • Assists managers in developing departmental budgets
  • Maintains and interprets hospital financial performance
  • Identifies and reports undesirable trends and potential business opportunities
  • Prepares internal financial reports including work papers for annual financial audit
  • Ensures timely and accurate preparation of financial reports
  • Directs efforts to reduce operating costs and increase revenues
  • Manages submission of financial data required by government and other regulated agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • CPA or Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of CFO-level experience in an acute-care hospital
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive management experience in an investor-owned healthcare organization
  • Strong, hands-on, and approachable leadership skills
  • Outgoing and friendly personality
  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff

Qualifications

  • Verbal, interpersonal, and quantitative skills normally acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
