Job Summary

Fathers & Families Support Center Position Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Reports To: CEO

Direct Reports: Finance Manager, Accountants

Job Status: Full-Time / Exempt

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CEO to develop reports to present the financial status of the organization to the BOD
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and present to the board treasurer for presentation to the full BOD
  • Collect and prepare payroll information
  • Manage and maintain systems for reporting accounts payable and receivables
  • Manage and maintain systems for payments for contractual agreements
  • Manage and maintain systems for financial records from year to year
  • Manage and maintain a system for monitoring staff benefits, i.e., vacation accrual, health related benefits, child support payments and other related issues
  • Work with development team to prepare budgets for grant submission
  • Perform trend analyses on budget to determine how to allocate grant dollars
  • Prepare an annual budget for presentation to the finance committee
  • Prepare a monthly bank reconciliation report for the CEO
  • Maintain financial records for each contract and grant compliance
  • Serve as staff liaison to the finance committee of the board of directors
  • Prepare a forecasting system to demonstrate the financial status of the organization
  • Maintains financial files in preparation for the annual audit

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be knowledgeable of and proficient GAAP
  • Must be proficient with all financial software utilized by the organization
  • Must understand and practice the NASW code of ethics
  • Must be able to utilize agency and community resources to meet goals
  • Must be team oriented and able to work independently
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred
  • Must have 3 to 5 years’ experience in accounting with at least one as a fiscal manager in a not-for-profit organization
  • Must possess a valid Missouri driver’s license and have a reliable, insured vehicle

Pay Range

$90,000 - $110,000 per year
