Principal Responsibilities
- Serves as a strategic financial advisor to the Board, providing guidance on capital planning, dividend strategy, governance matters, and long-term enterprise initiatives.
- Evaluates and actively manages the institution's investment holdings, offering strategic recommendations to executive leadership regarding portfolio positioning and asset allocation decisions.
- Ledges both executive and Board-level financial governance forums, including ALCO and the Finance Committee.
- Delivers comprehensive reporting on liquidity posture, interest rate exposure, balance sheet composition, funding strategy, and adherence to internal policy benchmarks, while proposing risk mitigation strategies when necessary.
- Directs the development of the Bank’s comprehensive annual financial plan, inclusive of detailed monthly projections.
- Provides ongoing performance analysis to the Board, highlighting variances to plan and benchmarking results against selected peer institutions.
- Champions operational optimization by identifying opportunities to improve workflows through technology enablement and automation initiatives where measurable value can be achieved.
- Performs advanced financial analytics and scenario modeling across key areas such as branch contribution, loan and deposit portfolio dynamics, and individual product profitability.
- Oversees the framework for estimating credit losses, including ACL and CECL methodologies, incorporating economic forecasting and risk trend analysis to assess potential credit exposure.
- Manages and strengthens the Bank’s corporate credit card program, ensuring appropriate oversight, policy compliance, and vendor relationship management.
- Maintains governance over accounting and finance policies, ensuring documentation, updates, and implementation align with regulatory expectations and institutional standards.
- Supervises the accounts payable function to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and internal control integrity.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting required; professional credentials such as CPA and/or an MBA strongly valued.
- A minimum of ten years in senior financial leadership within a banking organization or independent mortgage banking platform.
- Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements and mortgage banking operations is advantageous.
- Track record of consistent performance and advancement in executive-level leadership roles with meaningful scope and accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret competitive and economic dynamics and translate those insights into sound, revenue-generating strategic initiatives.
- Deep working knowledge of banking laws, regulatory frameworks, and operational infrastructure, with a history of aligning compliance discipline with efficient execution.
- Experience advising boards and ownership groups on governance-related matters, including clear and effective communication of complex financial topics.
- Buys-in mentality combining initiative, business acumen, and disciplined leadership to drive organizational results.
