Role Summary
The CFO oversees various areas including accounting, IT, materials management, revenue cycle, patient access, HIM, patient financial services, reimbursement, and payor contracting. They advise senior leadership and the Board of Commissioners on financial performance and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Maximize revenue growth opportunities
- Implement cost-saving measures for long-term financial stability
- Optimize revenue cycle operations
- Review and manage managed care agreements
- Participate in organizational strategic planning and decision-making
Essential Skills and Experience
- Master’s degree in business, healthcare, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant or equivalent
- 15+ years of total experience with healthcare background
- 10+ years of management and/or director-level experience with healthcare background
- Experience in planning, financial accountability, employee relations, and quality improvement
- Supervisory experience overseeing multiple departments
- Knowledge of health care systems including acute care, outpatient care, clinics, long-term care, home health, and others
- Logical thinking and change implementation skills
- Leadership and communication abilities
- Experience with alternative payment methodologies and payer relations
- Ability to analyze data and set up structures for decision support
- Strong communicator and problem solver
- Critical thinking and data analytics skills
- Ability to foster a culture of accountability
