About the role

Santé is seeking a strategic, hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial operations of a growing nonprofit behavioral health organization serving communities across Maryland. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced nonprofit finance leader who can think strategically, lead with confidence, and oversee the financial health of an organization making a meaningful impact every day.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and execute the organization's long-term financial strategy.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, financial reporting, and monthly close processes.
  • Oversee accounting operations, annual audits, internal controls, and financial compliance.
  • Manage grant funding, Medicaid reimbursement, government contracts, and restricted funding requirements.
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team while supporting leaders across the organization with sound financial guidance.
  • Deliver clear, actionable financial reporting to executive leadership and the Board.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen financial sustainability and support organizational growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Significant senior financial leadership experience in a nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or human services organization.
  • Experience managing grants, government funding, Medicaid reimbursement, audits, and nonprofit financial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business decisions.

CPA or Master's degree preferred.
